Known as the Bluff City, Eufaula is located in southeast Alabama, near the Alabama-Georgia border. It is 90 miles southeast of Montgomery, and the city overlooks the beautiful 45,000-acre Lake Eufaula.
Lake Eufaula is one of the most beautiful lakes in Alabama. There is plenty of docks and lots of open water for water sports.
This lake is a fisherman's paradise. The people are friendly. The downtown is beautiful. If your wife and kids don't want to go fishing, just house them at Lake Point and let them spend the day in the pool! Bring your fishing hat and insect repellent-- this is Alabama-- gnats and mosquitoes will escort you around the lake. The area is subject to some late afternoon thundershowers, but they pass quickly. After the storms, it is hotter than it was before.
Area attractions include: the Shorter Mansion and Museum, the Walking/Driving Tour, Lake Point State Park, and the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge.
