INTRODUCTION

A Baroque town with a Mediterranean feel. This relaxed place is a beautiful mountain area with great wine.

HISTORY

This city was captured by the Turks in 1596, leaving many Mosques and Turkish influences when they were driven out in the 17th century. Most of its Baroque architecture thrived in the 18th and 19th centuries. The town has had recent success as a flourishing tourist destination.
