Durham is located in North East England and is best known for it's Norman Cathedral and Castle and the University of Durham. The River Wear flows through the city.
Durham Cathedral dominates the skyline of Durham and is known for its Norman architecture and has been dated back to 1093 AD. The cathedral holds services daily for the Church of England and also has daily choir singing. It is now famous as a film location for some of the Hogwarts castle shots in the Harry Potter movies.
The University was founded in 1832. It is ranked 5th in universities of England.
