Doges Palace Venice

The Palazzo Ducale di Venezia is commonly referred to as the Doge's Palace because it was the residence of the Doge of Venice, who was the chief magistrate of Venice. With its Gothic arches and stone patterns adorning the facade, the architecture of this building is unlike anything else in the world and is magnificent to view up close. The Doge's Palace has an amazing location--it faces the Piazza San Marco and the Basilica di San Marco.
