INTRODUCTION
This tiny coastal nation situated in the Horn of Africa borders Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, and the Red Sea. It is a mere 20km from yemen at the other side of the Arabian Peninsula.
Most if its economy relies on services due to its ideal location of the Arabian peninsula. A predominantly stony desert like nation, 2/3 of the population live in Djibouti City, while the rest are nomabic herders spread out across the plateaus.
Unlike its neighbouring countries which seem to constantly be at war or fighting with each other, Djibouti is a peaceful, neutral nation, and safe to travel around, despite there not being a whole lot of attractions.
Visit Lake Assal, the lowest point on the African continent. Head off the coast for some snorkelling or diving. Hike up to Lac Abbé where you will feel lost in the land where Planet of The Apes was filmed.
