Disney Dream

In front of a crowd of nearly 3,000, Disney Cruise Line held a special ceremony to christen the Disney Dream on January 20 before it set sail, in order to welcome the 130,000-ton ship to the Disney Cruise Line family.

The Disney Dream is the third ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The ship has 14 towering decks, a ship length of 1,115 feet and a maximum width of 125 feet. This vessel has 1,250 staterooms on-board and comfortably fits 4,000 passengers.

Also on-board are over 1,458 Crew Members who make sure your cruise as every bit as magical as you imagined. The Disney Dream’s classic style is pulled from its two predecessors, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder.

Most importantly, it was built with families in mind. With state-of-the-art technology and various cruise-line firsts, this ship provides endless entertainment, pools, elegant dining, character meet-and-greets and more.

The christening spectacle honored all of the special people who worked hard to launch the Disney Dream at Florida’s Port Canaveral, including the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, where the Disney Dream was built and Captain Tom Forberg and his crew.

Key figures in the christening of the Disney Dream ceremony were Disney CEO Bob Iger, who originally announced the Disney Dream almost four years ago, as well as Tom Staggs, the chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

The Disney Dream is set to set sail on January 26 out of Port Canaveral to the Bahamas.
