Destin is known as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village." Maybe that's just according to the Convention and Visitors Bureau, but Okaloosa County is home to more than 140 charter fishing and party boats.

If you'd rather watch the marine life, instead of catching it, try a dolphin cruise, or go diving or snorkeling in the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

When the same old waves start boring the kids, check out Big Kahuna's Water Park for super slides and other attractions. Nearby Fort Walton Beach and Crestview also offer several fun parks and attractions.

Too much sand in your shoes? Try to avoid the sand traps at more than a dozen golf courses within easy driving distance. You can even compare your shots to the pros, to the west at The Moors, former home of the Blue Angels Classic, which is now the Boeing Classic, as played at the Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, a resort on the Destin coast.
