Delaware

This is the second smallest state the United States; only Rhode Island is smaller. Delaware, the Eastern Shore counties of Maryland and two counties of Virginia, form the Delmarva Peninsula, which is a geographical unit on the Mid-Atlantic. Dover is the state capital.
