Multiple climates, land forms, and an overall wealth of natural beauty make Churchill a perfect place for vacation. It contains extremely rare species of birds that entice many avid birdwatchers to view between the months of May and August. July and August are popular months as well, when thousands of Beluga whales travel through Churchill's waters. Between the months of October and November, travellers are able to witness multitudes of polar bears, as Hudson Bay starts freezing over. Probably one of the most spectacular aspects of Churchill is the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. This natural light show, which outdoes any July 4th fireworks display, can be seen from the months of January to March. Churchill can be reached by air, water, or train.
