California State Capitol

The state capitol building, located in downtown Sacramento in Capitol Park, houses the offices of the governor and the California State Legislature. The exterior is modeled after the national capitol building in Washington DC – a white building with columns, a portico, and a dome. Each California county has a shadowbox display in the halls of the building, educating visitors about the state’s 58 counties.
