Central Valley

The Central Valley stretches 400 miles of inland central California, nearly half of the state’s total length. The flat valley is roughly the same size as the state of Tennessee, and is bordered by Redding at the northern tip, and Bakersfield at the southern end. One of the most vital agricultural regions in the world, it is home to 6.5 million people, and is the nation’s main supplier of several crops, including almonds, tomatoes, grapes, and cotton.
