CajamarcaLocated in modern day Peru, the city of Cajamarca was the site of the final days of the Incan empore. Here Emperor Atahualpa was slain under orders of Francisco Pizzaro, even though Pizzaro was paid a hefty ransom for the ruler (a large room filled to the roof with gold).
