Burlington VermontNot only is Burlington the largest city in Vermont, but it is also one of the state's top vacation destinations. Because of its funky environment, many tourists flock to this northern wonder each year. Burlington is an interesting city, very much alive with unique spirit. The heart of downtown is pulsating with life! Here, many different street performers and food vendors call the area home for hours entertaining a bustling crowd of tourists hungry for the different, strange, and beautiful. In the center of downtown you can easily find the Church Street Marketplace, which contains over 75 specialty shops and 15 national retailers such as Macy's, Old Navy, and American Eagle Outfitters. The city of Burlington is very much in tune with the beautiful Green Mountains surrounding it. The University of Vermont is also located in Burlington, Vermont. A cool breeze comes in off the Lake of Champlain, which adds an air of magic to the town during summer nights. Burlington is also where Ben and Jerry's ice cream is made. Here, tourists can see the magic unfold as some of the world's best ice cream is made in its Vermont home factory. Also a fun feature of the factory is the Flavor Graveyard, where visitors can come and see tombstones commemorating the loss of their favorite retired ice cream flavors.
