Athens, Georgia, is the home of the University of Georgia NCAA football champion BULLDOGS! Athens is a beautiful old town, with small antique shops, and cafes lining the sidewalks; but, it is the Bulldogs that cause the town to overflow, especially during football season.
Find a place to park, if you can. If you are lucky enough to get tickets to a game "between the hedges" to watch the "silver britches" beat up on the incoming team, you'll be surrounded by a sea of black and red supporters. If not, find a place to cut on the radio, turn up the voice of the Dogs, Larry Munson, and listen to his rustic voice rise and fall with the plays of the game. You'll make friends easily as you grill and enjoy the fall football atmosphere, as long as you are growling like a bulldog!
