AlaskaLocated in the extreme northwest, Alaska is home to many Americans of diverse backgrounds. It is also one of the wealthiest and largest states in the Union. Even though it is twice the size of Texas, it is one of the least populated states, allowing it to be home for many wildlife creatures. In fact, the state is known for its natural beauty and national parks. Alaska is our 49th state. Furthermore, it is not bordered by any other state. Juneau is the capital city. Other main cities of Alaska include Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kodiak Island, Ketchikan, Homer, Sitka, Skagway, Seward, and Valdez.
