INTRODUCTION
Aberdeen is one of Scotland's largest cities. It is one of Europe's biggest sources of oil, is one of Britain's most important fishing ports, and is home to a huge fish market.
HISTORY
Aberdeen is at least 8,000 years old. The city was burned down by Edward III of England in 1336, but was rebuilt. The city has suffered a violent history, but has been restored each time it has been damaged.

King's College was the city's first university, founded in 1495.
St. Andrew's Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Episcopal Communion in the US.
